The young man with glasses who took my order was friendly and explained the menu to me when I told him it was my first time there. He also followed up with me to ask how I liked the food. He was very pleasant and helpful. The restaurant seemed very environmentally friendly with compostable silverware and bowls. I’d def eat there again!

Tried this hidden gem in Rolla today and it was delicious! Perfect portions, got my fav Thai Tea and my little devoured her edamame and miso. Will definitely catch lunch again.

Spring rolls are yummy and I loved my vegetable fried rice. The place is absolutely beautiful. Really good atmosphere. The plants and piano

Nice setup they have. Basically you go in and order your food either to go or you can sit down if you can find a spot. They don't have a whole lot of seats. So if the parking lot is full and people also parked on the street you might not get a spot. Food is great! I also opt for the bento box. Nice assortment to choose from. I occasionally order from their website as well and there's a couple more options there. There is a soup with beef (I forgot what it is called). That is awesome. Great staff and service. Looks like they have a drink bar now too.

****UPDATED: All previous mentioned issues have been alleviated! Great meal, fantastic sauce and wonderful staff! I will come again! Kyoto used to be a restaurant on N Bishop (US 63) where Jimmy Johns is located now. They recently opened at this location on 101 S Rucker. First impression is that there really isn't an outdoor sign, but since they just opened it may still be on the way. The interior decorating is nice. The process of ordering is cafeteria style, you pay and order at the front and then go sit down and wait for your meal to be brought to you. They also have a waiting area for To-Go orders. I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki Japanese Bento with Fried Rice. It appears most orders come with 2 spring rolls, although this is not advertised or mentioned on their menu. The chicken was cooked well, albeit a little dry but that is understandable with a Teriyaki style meal. One thing that I wished for was more sauce. There was barely any Teriyaki at all, and surprisingly most of the chicken barely tasted of Teriyaki. I had to scrounge for Teriyaki sauce out of the crevices of the serving plate I had received. One suggestion I have for the business is adding more Teriyaki or offering an additional cup of the sauce with the meals to allow people to sauce it up more if they wish. The fried rice had a certain lightness to it. Definitely more on the fluffy side in terms of texture. The spring rolls were also good. The wait time was rough. We arrived at the restaurant at approximately 11:25. We didn't receive our food until 12:50. That is basically a 1 hour and 30 minute wait. Definitely not a restaurant to go to if you need a quick lunch break. The times may improve with time, but as of right now it is pretty extreme. Portion sizes are generous, with plenty of food included to sate most hungry patrons. The entire establishment appears to offer environmentally friendly food packaging and utensils. Water is provided free of charge from a water station with whole lemon slices in the water for flavoring. I look forward to trying this establishment again, and hopefully the wait will be shorter! Good luck to the re-opening!

The flavors are delicate and delicious! Very clean with great decor. The owner and workers are VERY polite and quick. I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant!!

Great food! The Japanese bento is amazing and very good price. There is an authentic Chinese food menu too. Environment is great and the server is very nice.

Friendly service, answered questions about food items, and made good recommendations for my lunch choice. We came about an hour before closing time so there were very few people. Next time I'm in Rolla, I hope to try more of the menu items. I am betting they taste just as good as my lunch did.
